Blooms Creek Campground is located in the Big Basin Redwoods State Park, .5 miles away from the State Park Headquarters and the Big Basin Grocery Store. This is critical information for those of us who want to enjoy an early morning espresso. It's also a great location for those who want to be close to the parks' hosted activities and convenient access to hiking. The East Ridge, Blooms Creek and Sequoia trail each pass through this camp.
The redwood trees provide Blooms Creek Campground sites with shade throughout the day. Levels of privacy vary greatly, depending on how close the site is to Big Basin Way and the density of huckleberry buses and redwoods surrounding the site. Campsites range from small to moderate in size, fitting a 4-person to 8-person tent. Some of the sites back right up to Blooms Creek.
The camp is split into two sections. The first section is North of Blooms Creek and offers the ambiance of larger and more stunning redwood trees but less privacy from your camping neighbor. Big Basin Way and closer proximity to neighboring campers are the downsides to this section. The second section is on the south side of Blooms Creek, slightly more upland. These sites offer a more private camping experience but include more huckleberry shrubs and smaller redwood trees.
The camp road is paved. Parking spurs and campsites are all dirt. There is a main bathroom at the front of the camp with showers and flush toilets. Four other bathrooms are spaced throughout the camp.

100% of reviewers on Hipcamp recommended this campground. Joanna R. stated, "Virtually every campsite is wooded and shady, so you're sure to be comfortable in nearly all of them. Campsites 113, 114, 122, 127-129, 146, 156, 155 are all pretty private. Lots of great < 1.5 mile hikes for small kids. Great Jr. Ranger program at 3 pm each day."
